RICHARD PIETRUSKA MOTOR ART
My process starts with choosing a particular car, concept sketches, study models and to see what materials to use that would best illustrate the idea. It’s a long process and done mostly by hand, not computers, and the results are shown here. This process can take anywhere from two to eight months to complete each sculpture with lots of sanding and prepping each piece before the final painting and finishing.

RICHARD’S STORY
Richard Pietruska is a highly respected professor at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California and has been teaching for over 40 years. Many of his former students are the leading automotive designers in the United States, Europe, Asia and Brazil.
He is also a member of the AFAS or Automobile Fine Arts Society. Richard has won the prestigious Peter Helck Award for 3 years in a row and numerous Athena Awards of Excellence at Pebble Beach.
